how sweet it is with the tall grass down by the river! my gratitude to the planners and landscapers who have transformed the old pond/dam into a walkway Everyone likes to visit. The ‘dog promenade’ of the last few seasons has blossomed into walkers, bikers, strollers, everyone enjoying the path that goes clear down to Hudson Mills park.
From this portrait of Dana, you would not know we were enjoying the rushing river behind her and the babies and dogs walking by. She is a swimmer at Hartland High and I was striving to make a senior portrait to rival her older siblings–and just love this one. Thank you Dana!

It is just June, football is on the other side of summer, but found this image we made last summer for 2014 at the football field during a Pinckney High School senior portrait session. We did the football part of the senior photo shoot After we did the head and shoulders for the yearbook (they wanted a studio portrait to match the yearbook) and a few outdoor at the studio (always love to try few senior picture poses by the Blue door when we do a shoot at the studio–the quality of light is so nice) and a few a the lake.
The high school graduation is a key time for every family, and is the perfect time to pause and make a simple family portrait. I encourage you to take advantage of the complimentary family portrait session and print!
The session is usually short, low stress, casual, in the evening at home or an area park, during the summer when older siblings are home. –Colleen
Now it is senior portrait time. And the yearbook wants a special portrait of every senior, not just the stand-by blue or purple background made at the beginning of school year.
Graduation portraits may or may not be a big deal in your family. But here at Photo Generations Colleen takes time to get relaxed images, with variety, to show off different aspects of your graduate’s personality. If you want to bring the dog, the car, the siblings, the tuba, the pole vault, yes that is possible. But it is not necessary.
I wanna know what I’m in for before we book the session!
As a small business owner I get callers all the time who are Extremely Cautious About Pricing.
How much is this gonna cost?
Your senior portraits may be as simple or involved as you desire. Price depends on what you choose. We have 4 session choices. It’s your choice whether to choose a simple 1/2-hour “EZEE” session ($35) , or a “Have it ALL -TWO DAY TWO PLACE TWO WAY” session ($276.50). We have two choices in between as well, the “No Limits”-90-minute in-studio around downtown Dexter ($105). And the “Your Special PLace”-2-hour session at…your…special…place. ($136.50) 🙂 ( save 30% if reserved before August 5)
Yes, how much are the Prints gonna cost?
If you just need five 5×7’s you should get the “KIS PACK”. That costs $150. If you just want one 5×7 that costs $56. However, if you purchase a middle or higher Collection, you will get much more for your money. The “21-Credit 5-pose Collection” ($495) will allow for a variety of prints and a gorgeous something for your wall, or a mini album, lots of wallets, etc.! The bigger 10-Pose 30-Credit Collection ($799) gets you even more.
Regardless of what level you purchase, if you take advantage of the summer StoryBook special you can get your gorgeous grad in a precious StoryBook album for just $165 !!!
Now that the ‘official’, Prestige Portraits studio closed their Ann Arbor studio, many Dexter families are considering if it’s worth it to drive to Farmington Hills or Taylor to have their senior’s portrait made and wondering just how much Photo Generations prices are compared to Prestige studio. Our quality is better, our prices are comparable.
best value: the summer StoryBook special gorgeous StoryBook album for just $165 !!!
The StoryBook album starts as 20 favorite TOUCHED-UP images on twenty different beautifully designed pages bound in a tactile hardcover 8-inch square book with tasteful design. A finished -‘touched-up’-portrait goes through many steps and the images are stunning once skin issues are taken care of. More about what is so special about TOUCHED-UP images later.
