Maddie senior photo session started at the studio, the 'blue door'

Maddie came back for senior portraits 14 years after her baby portraits! She brought her ballet regalia and an ever-present smile, many ideas, and a few real snowflakes fell! We made tracks all over Washtenaw County, starting at the studio, then down to Warrior Park in Dexter, then to Dexter-Huron park for a special photo, then on to downtown ann arbor–or rather UM campus where we had some fun at LSA building and the Museum of Art and an old hangout for this photographer, the Tappan Building. Congrats Maddie!

cello senior picture session dexter mi senior

big school senior portrait with playing cello
this senior portrait is better than the yoyo ma portrait used for inspiration!
Forgot the cello for the original session so we did a mini session just with the cello a few days later This is my favorite; I could’ve listened to Andrew practice all afternoon. I looked at portraits of Yoyo Ma for inspiration, but this portrait looks nothing like the inspiration image–it looks better. Bravo Andrew!

A special place for Amanda from Dexter High for her senior portraits was the community project she designed and did with the children from the daycare center, just one of her passions. Love her composure!

fun senior pix on the tramp

thank heavens not all senior pix are posed
Jake’s portrait special place was at the swim club, where he has spent many summer days. We started on the dive board, then the tramp, then by the hydrangeas, then by the cement turtle, then on the nature trail, then by the river birch and bridge, ending at the studio for an-in-studio head and shoulders.

Happy senior portrait client comments

We are absolutely thrilled with the final prints of Meredith’s senior photos. It was positively worth driving from Troy to Dexter to have them done. From our first meeting when you honestly showed an interest in her as a subject, what she wore, what she was comfortable with, etc. to the day of the photo session, when even bad weather and an uncooperative dog couldn’t dampen (thanks for the family thing!… you are so patient!), to the method in which we can leisurely browse through the proofs at home and really come up with the best decision on probably the only individual portraits a person will have until their wedding. The final product is beautiful, and again, worth the effort I made in finding someone like you to do this. THANK YOU. WE LOVE THEM!
