hi

September 2019

NOTE FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Welcome,

For those unfamiliar with the studio, I’m Colleen, the photographer at Photo Generations. I love to make portraits outdoors where we can explore the the city of Dexter or Ann Arbor–or wherever your special location may be.

Photo Generations has always been based in a Dexter, Michigan studio until this 2020 senior portrait season!  The studio  is no longer used and we meet on-location for all portrait sessions.

Many of the graduating seniors coming to Photo Generations are people I first met as young children when we made baby or family portraits! It is a delight to see how they have grown up.

Senior pictures are a milestone.   I’m here so you get the best photographs AND the best experience possible.

Proofs are presented on-line within a few days of our photo session.  Choosing & ordering your portrait is done either by you on your device or together on my laptop

Portraits are always a collaboration, so, let’s talk!  I’ll ask questions to best plan our time together and make a plan for portraits. Your ideas and questions are welcome.

Meanwhile, class of 2020 yearbook portraits are coming due soon, so now is time to  arrange your senior portrait session.

See session info and pricing here.   Session prices listed on-site are for weekdays. Weekend sessions are available for an additional $75 fee.

Portraits, collages, frames, canvases and digital photos are purchased separately from the session.  See pricing here.

Regarding yearbook deadlines and submission:  it is your responsibility to schedule the session AND make your yearbook choice known to me at least 15 days before your school yearbook deadline.

Any yearbook choice request within 14 calendar days of your yearbook deadline requires  an extra $50 payment to rush your order.

Get your school deadline/submission info from your school yearbook advisor.  The deadlines change every year and information is on the website to help you.

Seniors come for senior portraits to Photo Generations from many different areas and schools.  We do most sessions in downtown Dexter- (but I do enjoy downtown Ann Arbor or Chelsea as well!)   Dexter is just 6 miles from downtown Ann Arbor, a short hop to Chelsea and about 15 miles from Saline and eastern Washtenaw County via I-94.

Please look around and when you have a question, just call or email or use this online form to request a specific session day.

-warmly, Colleen

Kate won $20,000 for havng her senior pictures made at Photo Generations portrait studio, her photos were chosen in a national competion! go Katie!
In 2007 Katie F. who had her portraits made here, won her choice of the national drawing for $20,000 or a mustang.  She choose the $20 grand.  Amazing. See the video from when she chose here: video of Katie choosing between the Mustang or $20,000 at Dexter High School basketball game.

TRUE STORY–AN EXAMPLE OF HOW MUCH YOU MAY TREASURE YOUR SENIOR PICTURES:

High School portraits really are treasured.  Eight years after having her portraits made, a Class of 2001 high school grad came in to finally order her senior pictures!  We had to retrieve the old files–film negatives not digital files–and boy was she pleased with the images.  Turns out in 2000 she had been to other photographers but was not satisfied, so she came here to Photo Generations but, because her picture budget had already been spent, she just had the session done. Now she is a college grad, employed and able to get the pictures!  Amazing.
So you see  I am not exaggerating.    This is how meaningful your senior portraits can be–you will probably want to look at them, and have them for…gasp…your children to enjoy a decade from today.

Call or email now with any questions–best to call and reserve your session!  The phone number is 734-426-0700 (after hours just leave your message).
