| ...the style of
your family portrait... |
What
an
interesting day it was yesterday!
In the morning a mom came to pick up her portraits--images we had made
several months ago. I was touched by her reaction to seeing her
finished portraits for the first time--She actually was squealing with
delight! I kid you not. Her joy in seeing the her
sweet
little boy reminded me why I love making pictures for people.
Later
yesterday a different mom, ( I'll call her 'Jane') came in to
have me put new images into her family album. The album is about a year
old and has pictures from the first year of life of her twin children.
As we looked through her album Jane was emotional--" Look at
my
babies, aren't they sweet, they are soo different now. This album is
precious. This is
BY FAR the best thing I have Ever spent money on."
I could
not believe Jane said this. Jane had just finished
designing, building and furnishing and decorating a brand new home.
And she just told me the pictures we made together meant more
than any appliance, stud, wall or floor covering or other do-dad she
had picked out. Her remark made me realize again the meaning
and value of images we create together.
AFTER
JANE LEFT a third client came to pick up his family portraits.
(no he was not the ghost of christmas past) 'John'
told me
about what each of the grown children in the portraits is up to.
I could see how much love and pride he has for his family. I am happy
to have been able to make images of them during the holidays when they
came together. They will cherish for many years these portraits, the
remembrance of this moment in the life of their family--in a few years
the kids will all be out of the house maybe relocated to
different
parts of the country, maybe with grandchildren even. At this
moment they were together as a family and their joy in each other is
very evident in the images he is holding in the box. "I think
my
wife will like these pictures," he said.
SO that
was part of my day yesterday.
If you
would like to have family portraits made, please

Your
portrait does not have to...
have everyone dressed in their best clothes.. Everyone does
not have to be looking at the camera with their best smiles.
..You do not have to have a studio backdrop..
In your
portrait you may be involved in an activity you enjoy together... You
may be in a cozy corner in your home, or my studio, or in a nook of
your yard, or at a park in the area....you could be at a beach, or the
family place up north....the possibilities are as varied as your
personalities are!
With a
bit of thought and planning we can make the perfect portrait for this
time in your family's life. I hope this has given you some inspiration.
I know family life can be very busy. Please take a moment now to call
or email and we can get started on making your family portrait happen!
