We plan your day for minimal photo intrusion once your guests have arrived. As importantly, we also plan adequate time for fine portraits-- if this is something you desire. Please remember: group portraits take time. We prefer to make group portraits happen as early in the day as possible! This way we make those very important portraits, and you enjoy your celebration. The photography does not infringe on your time with guests.

How we plan:
Colleen needs to know what your priorities are. So we talk until Colleen has a strong sense of Your preferences. Then on your wedding day we will be ready for anything.

It is important to discuss with Colleen your preferences for both style and content of your wedding photographs. General things to think about: What are the most important photos for you? What is your vision of your bridal portrait ? Which family groupings are key? Do you prefer photojournalistic coverage for the entire day? How will your day flow? What photos do you want in your wedding albums?

We strongly request that, if a formal type portrait is desired, the bride Be Ready for portraiture allowing 20 minutes for photography. This is very important. Brides, make your hair and make-up appointments early. Allow a leisurely time to dress. Allow yourself be be ready and with the photographer at least 20 minutes to make a wonderful portrait before the ceremony. For Bride & Groom together, please allow an additional 20 minutes, preferably Before the ceremony.

Your formals & select group portraits are made on a larger format camera which allows us to retouch your photos if you desire. And we use 35-mm for spontaneous photojournalism-style photos.

On your Day coverage is based on time & not limited by location. We do not limit the amount of images we make on your day--and you recieve a set of the originals.

Day-long coverage allows great flexibility. Formal portraits can be made away from the guests. Plenty of coverage time allows the fun moments, and the quiet telling moments to unfold. We look for such moments and also make informal-feeling group portraits of the celebrants, family & friends.

At ceremony time we make unobtrusive photos--within clergy guidelines. We attend the reception and make additional images, generally when the toast is made, the cake is cut, and the first dance.--and whatever else is important to you. We may make a special portrait after the festivities.
