Like the airport, photographers in a holding pattern waiting to land…. i’d forgotten how popular the Law Quad in Ann Arbor is for senior portrait sessions … Yesterday we landed there to make grad pictures for Bailey from Pioneer high school.  Despite the Pioneer HIgh yearbook picture deadline next week (oct 14), despite the other sessions hers was wedged between.  Beautiful 78 degrees and sunshine, we had 90 minutes together.  she brought her siblings her dad another friend and a sheet to cover up with when she changed outfits.  I’m so glad Michelle remembered me doing her and her brothers senior picture sessions so many years back…I was happy to make this one happen IN STYLE for her friend.  We went to the Arb also and got images in the autumn colors, strolling down the path among college kids and couples in love.

thanks for a great, but brief, evening Bailey!  I enjoyed visiting some of my favorite places from years ago as a college student in a-squared.

Happily it didn’t rain till the end of this session, we had a chance to get to the ‘llama farm’ where Amy has cared for this little guy since his birth a year ago. Gentle, half-toothless, with crazy moving ears, one llama looked like an Ewok from Star wars. And to top it off,, I learned alittle history about the farm–it was a stage-coach stop and inn, back in the day, when it took all day to get from Saline to Dexter, en route to Pinckney. You would never suspect that from the unassuming look of the place.

With a busy summer ahead we set out to get Ryan’s senior pictures done while he had free time.
His desire was for a golf portrait, so off to Ann Arbor Golf Club, where he spends a lot of time!
We found a few favorite spots on the peaceful and sunny afternoon.

Here is a video of pictures taken at MHSAA regional competition last week.  We’re using this same video technique for Class of 2012 seniors  at Photo Generations.  The video is a thank you gift to those seniors who ‘like’ the Senior-portraits-at-photo-generations facebook page.

Recently attended Dexter High School Invitational Wrestling Tournament. Dexter hosted teams from all over the state.  My main goal was to get action photos of Kurt, a Brighton High School senior, at his mom’s request.

Brighton High School won the tournament that day.  This coming weekend (Feb. 25-27.) Brighton HS wrestling team goes onward to the State Division 1 wrestling finals.  Then March 3-5 Kurt and other Brighton wrestlers compete in Individual championships.  GOOD LUCK KURT, AND GOOD LUCK BRIGHTON WRESTLERS!

I was impressed by the enthusiastic crowd at the meet.  A Dexter wrestler was given the first annual Mann Memorial Award for wrestling achievement, and parents of Dexter Wrestling Seniors were honored.

The only bummer was that I lost my favorite little camera that afternoon!!!  So if anyone found a Sony silver camera with movies of the wresting presentations, and skiing pictures, too!  Please contact me.

Calm.  Deliberate. Easy. Comfortable. Intense.  Quiet. That’ what Kurt brought to his session a few days ago.  The Brighton Mi High School senior is a wrestler–and I bet he’s focused when it comes time for a wrestling match.  Love the Brighton High School orange and black colors!   We had soft evening light–very warm light and it warmed up the tone of the images.  Outstanding session!

I look forward to getting good action shots of Kurt wrestling during a wrestling match during the school year in addition to  making these senior pictures last week!

This year we will be directly uploading Kurt’s senior picture to the site specified by Brighton High School yearbook adviser.   And we have plenty of time to make the deadline..

This session reminded me that often the favorite picture from a family portrait session is not the posed picture.   Arron had his senior pictures -Dexter High School Class of 2010 – made last summer.   This June, after graduation, the family is moving out of state and the at  graduation commencement time, the extended family came together from around the country to celebrate & make an extended family portrait.  Can you guess which was  both the mom and grandmoms’ favorite picture of the two brothers?
